Subject: Important O2 BES Express Update

When existing BIS customers on O2’s pre-2010 voice tariffs download BES Express - it won't work straightaway.  This will not impact any customers who've connected to a BIS tariff since 1 March 2010 or those who connect in the future.

Impacted customers need to call O2’s Business Customer Service team, who will manually change their settings. This could take up to one working day, although O2 do it as quickly as we can.

Unfortunately, O2 won't know that a customer has downloaded the BES Express software from the RIM website until you or your customer get in touch. This means that O2 can't proactively change their settings.

This is a temporary workaround until O2 can make this happen automatically. O2 are working closely with RIM to put an automated process in place and this will be available by the end of April. We'll keep you updated.

Which customers will be impacted?

Existing BIS customers on O2’s pre 2010 voice tariffs who signed up to BIS before 1 March 2010. This includes BIS customers who are re-signing.

Which customers won't be impacted?
Any customers who've connected to a BIS tariff since 1 March 2010 or those who connect in the future. Whether they're brand new connections, re-signing customers or existing customers adding BIS - as long as they're taking BIS for the first time, they won't be impacted.

In addition, those existing BIS customers on our 2010 voice tariffs won't be impacted.

BES Express will work as soon as they download it - there's no need for them to change their settings
